DIY Aquarium In A Jar
Hey guys, I’m back with another quick and easy craft idea for the kids! This DIY Aquarium In A Jar is a great way to keep the younger kids entertained! Having all the kids home now has been a challenge and that is an understatement! I do love having them home, but it’s been hard to keep them all entertained. The older kids have been occupied with school work while the younger kids are just bored. So, I decided to let the younger kids make this DIY Aquarium In A Jar. We were lucky that we had all the supplies on hand, chances are you might too!
Last month we took a family trip to North Carolina, while we were there we took the kids to an aquarium and the girls had picked up these aquarium toys that you see below. I found something similar on Amazon, which I will provide the link below. You can also find these items at your local pet store. The rocks were from Dollar Tree, if you don’t have those, you can send the kids to go and pick pebbles from your yard!

STEP 1:
Layer the bottom of the jar, then fill with water. I used distilled water for this, because where we live we have a lot of minerals in our water, which will leave hard water stains on the glass. Put a drop of blue food coloring in the jar, and gently swirl to mix the water. Have the kids fill will their favorite aquarium toys!
I am definitely glad to say the kids have been having fun playing with these jars! If you don’t have mason jars, you could always use plastic soup containers, empty peanut butter or jelly jars. You could also add glitter to the water!
I will be posting more DIY crafts for the kids, I have been busy keeping them entertained!
