DIY Hand Sanitizer
Hey guys, I’m back with another great DIY! This DIY Hand Sanitizer is a must if you have little kids and this recipe fits perfectly in travel size bottles. You could really make this with only 2 ingredients, but I added 2 more ingredients, one for scent-you all know how much I love my essential oils, and one for extra moisturization. Rubbing alcohol is the main ingredient in this hand sanitizer, which is VERY drying and smells awful!
I know these times are tough where we can’t even get hand sanitizer or rubbing alcohol, I happened to have rubbing alcohol in the house. It does have to be isopropyl alcohol. You could substitute with witch hazel but the alcohol content is very low, usually 14%, that’s not high enough to kill germs.

This recipe makes 3 oz, you can easily double double or triple this recipe. I chose to make small batches so it’s the perfect size for my purse! I used travel sized bottles that are TSA approved, which I found in the travel sized section at Target. You could use empty lotion or hand sanitizer bottles.
The link for the rubbing alcohol is the closet item I could find without it costing a fortune!
STEP 1:
Fill the bottle with rubbing alcohol, then top off with aloe vera gel. Replace the cap and shake really well. Add your Vitamin E oil and lavender essential oil and mix really well again. You really could omit the essential oil and Vitamin E oil but I chose scent and moisturization as a must! If you don’t have any essential oils on hand, you could substitute with vanilla extract for scent. Instead of Vitamin E oil, you could use jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, or fractionated coconut oil.
