Homemade Organic Lip Balm
Hey guys, I’m back with another great and cheap gift idea! This Homemade Organic Lip Balm is the perfect addition to a spa gift basket! This requires 5 minutes of your time and can be made in the microwave! You can scroll below for other DIY beauty products to add to your gift basket.
I did make a DIY 2 ingredients lip balm way back when, and I absolutely love that one, but I wanted something not as thick and creamy so I decided to make this one and I absolutely love it!!!! This DIY Lip Balm is super moisturizing and is perfect for the cold air! I sometimes also use this for my hands! I LOVE LOVE LOVE making my own products because I know what I’m putting on my body and it’s so fun and simple to do! Who doesn’t love receiving these as gifts?! I already did have all the supplies I needed to make these on hand, so it didn’t cost me anything to make. If you do need to buy all of these supplies, it’ll cost about $30. I know it does sound like a lot, but it will get you a long way with how little of the ingredients you actually need to make these lip balms. You will have more than enough to make the other products at the bottom of the page!

You can add any essential oils if you like, just make sure the oils are edible. I chose to leave this lip balm plain just in case some of you don’t have oils on hand.
This recipe is enough to make 4 tubes of lip balm. You can double or triple the recipe if you need to make more, just keep in mind it will take longer for the beeswax to melt.
1/2 Tablespoon Coconut Oil (here)
1/2 Tablespoon Beeswax Pellets (here)
1/4 Teaspoon Vitamin E Oil (here)
Lip Balm Tubes (here)
Plastic Syringe or Eye Dropper*
Small Microwaveable Bowl
*I used a plastic syringe that comes with infant medicine.
In a small microwaveable small, heat your beeswax pellets until it’s melted. I heated mine in increments of 45 seconds. By the third time, it was almost all melted and that’s when I added the coconut oil to the bowl with the beeswax pellets and heated it for an additional 45 seconds. Once everything is melted add the Vitamin E oil. If you are using essential oils, add it now.
Use a syringe or eye dropper to suck up the liquid and carefully add it to the lip balm tubes.
Put the lip balm tubes in the fridge for 30 minutes to harden up. After the 30 minutes, you will have homemade lip balm ready for use! How easy was that?! I added these cute stickers on that I found at Hobby Lobby! They have so many pretty lip balm labels that you can find on Amazon for something a little more special!
