Hey guys, I’m back to explain Why I’m Not Really An Extreme Couponer. Don’t get me wrong, some people would say I’m extreme, I like to think I’m in between. I have exhausted myself running to every store, cutting
every single coupon just because I could get it for free, and eventually I gave up on couponing. I love saving money too much to let that happen again! I always walk out of the store with the biggest euphoria because I just robbed that store legally, one guy at CVS described me to my husband “as the girl who walks out of here looking like she just hit the jackpot!” Some of you may say then why not keep going and get everything you can get, for free? Simple answer, it takes a lot to coupon, it takes a lot to match up every coupon with every store sale (but you guys don’t have to worry about that, I’m doing all the work for you!) planning my meals for the week based off what’s on sale, I want to spend time with my family and not glued to store circulars and coupons.
Also, if I don’t think the deals are too good, I’m not going to run out just to score a few things, there are times where I don’t always use coupons. One great thing about using coupons is you can donate a lot of the stuff you get to local pantries but I know myself, how often am I going to go to the local pantry that is half an hour away to donate all these goods with 4 kids to get in and out of the car, very unlikely. Around the holidays, I will get extra canned goods and bring them to my kids’ schools for their food drives.
My family doesn’t eat Hamburger Helper, so many times I see Shoprite having sales on them and after coupons I can get a box for around .70, but to me that’s not worth it if we don’t eat it, then I’m just wasting money and I know I won’t donate it until the holidays. Around September is usaully when I start accumulate extra food for donations. If you know you will be donating and making the time for it, then by all means do it! I am just letting you know what works for me and what keeps my sanity at bay!
Most extremers will print every single couple, I mentioned in my post How To Coupon why I do not print coupons. My theory is if I’m not going to use it, why take up the room in my crazy house to make room for it! And believe me, there is a lot of Craziness here! That’s also why when I post the matchups I only post about the freebies and really good deals!
